Official Emotional Support Animal Premium Kits
Emotional support animals, most often dogs, are animals that have been prescribed by a licensed mental health professional (MHP). Emotional Support Animals provide comfort and support in the form of affection and companionship for an individual suffering from various mental and emotional conditions. An emotional support dog is not required to perform any specific tasks for a disability like a service dog does they are meant solely for emotional stability and unconditional love.
Any animal can be an ESA and does not have to be professionally trained although basic obedience training is highly recommended. ESA’s are often identified by wearing an emotional support vest or wearing a tag identifying that it as an emotional support animal. Emotional support animals do not have the public access rights that Service Dogs do. Emotional Support Animals can legally live with their owner in housing that has a no-pet policy. Some businesses, such as airlines, require seeing an identification card or vest indicating that the animal is an emotional support animal. It is important to note that there is no registration, certification or special training needed for an ESA.
